Day 5 Neussen

56 miles to Neussen.  This is a very small village just outside Belgern Schildau.  I went there because I had another host from the Warmshowers program.

My host for the previous 2 nights in Dresden was Krystof (2nd from the left).  Also in the photo is Tony and Elisa.  He lives in a flat with several roommates.  It was a great visit.  Although young, these guys were remarkably well traveled, well educated, well spoken.  I can't say enough good things.  I hope we can meet again some day.

First windmill of the ride.  This one was used as a gristmill until 1906.  Constructed in 1828.

First May pole of the ride.

Albrechtsburg Castle in Meissen, Germany.  The cathedral at the center of the castle complex was constructed between 1260 and 1410.

My host for the evening was Peter - here with his youngest daughter Maja.  His family lives in a very old house - constructed in 1467.  He and his wife are renovating it to historical standards.

  1. Nice to see you're staying with Couchsurfers and Warm Shower hosts again! Always one of my favorite parts!
