Day 9 Ketzin

 64 miles to Ketzin.

I'm taking a detour off the Elbe River path to visit Berlin.  This campground was along the way.

I checked the weather this morning before leaving and it said chance of rain on and off all day and wind of 17 to 20 mph all day.  But good fortune was with me today because the wind was blowing in my direction.  Wow.  It felt like I had a motor on the bike.  It was a wonderful feeling and a lovely ride.  It only rained once I got to the campground and had already set up my tent.

I've been passing wind farms every day - and many homes with solar panels.  The German's appear to be way ahead of us in the use of renewable energy.

Part of the path today was along canals and part was wooded.  But no more than a mile or two was off a bike path.
I passed many fields of asparagus growing in this very sandy soil.

  1. Dad knew that asparagus grows in sand - we didn't.
