Day 2 Decin

 62 miles to Decin

This will be my last night in the Czech Republic.  Tomorrow I enter Germany.

It was a long day.  Rain threatened all day and came down here and there.  But the bike trail along the river was really nice so that helped.  No sightseeing today since I got to the campsite late and a terrific thunderstorm hit right after I finished my dinner.

The trail was paved for most of the ride today.  There was some crushed stone and a small part was just plain rocky.  But overall very nice.
The trail took me through the walled village of Terazin.  That hole in the fortified wall was my way in.  Where the sheep are grazing was a mote that surrounded the entire village.  I'll have to look up the history on this interesting place.
There were many small, walled villages along the path today, all built around a church at the center.

Just had to keep following the signs.  Eurovelo 7 is the same as Czech bike route 2.

  1. How did that thunderstorm compare to the one at that lock we camped at?

  2. The thunder and lightning was intense for about 30 minutes but there was no wind like at the Lock where we almost blew into the Erie Canal!!! That was crazy.
